Great experience at Weston Wetland

Sunset at Weston

Last Friday i and my children go to the Weston Wetland park which famous with their rare proboscis monkeys, fireflies, wild plant and wild animal such as crocodile. This land are protected area which our government reserve it for parks and nature purposed.

Our group consists of 24 people only 4 of us is local and the other are from China. About 1.30 pm we leave from the city of Kota Kinabalu and reached Weston about 4.30 pm. After a short break then we start with a river cruise sight. We are very lucky on that day, where we are able to see 3 kind of monkey species but i'm not sure what kind of it. Our tour guide gives a very good explanation but mostly in Chinese language (Mandarin). My children often ignores any explanation of a person. Surprisingly they listen every statement from our guide and ask a lot of question to him. If you want to took an nice picture of a proboscis monkey, i advise you to use a camera with a lens at least 50mm to 250mm or more.  
Even haze is covering the sky but we still able to take a nice picture of their sunset. This is the most memorable evening where i can spend together with my family on the boat accompanied by the view of Weston sunset. Dinner is serve when we reached the jetty. About 7.00 pm once again we have to ride on the boat for a fireflies sight. During the fireflies sight we are adviced not to use any flash on the camera coz this will scared all the fireflies. I can't take any video of the fireflies coz is to dark (still learning how to lower the light to get the best picture of it.) After half and hour we all get back to coach and get back to the city.

First time DIY canvas painting with my children

Children are the most precious thing in our life, so learning is very important to them. What have been applied will be the basic to guide them in the future. With it, spend some time with them while they were young. I my self as a working mom, hardly have a time to play with them. They really like craft and art things especially DIY. 

This is my first DIY project with my children. Below is my canvas painting video with my children. I think the video are to long, so i'll do some improvement in the future.

Fresh Loh Hon Kor herbal tea

Loh Hon Kor or Chinese people call it Buddha fruit or monk fruit or longevity fruit. This is my first time see a fresh Loh Hon Kor because normally i just buy those process one from the grocery store. This fruit have are great benefit for dispelling heat and cooling down your body, avoid heat stroke, throat inflammation and cough.  

My aunt from Brunei brought me this fresh Buddha fruit but i didn't manage to meet her because she is busy with her church conference. She left the fruit at my uncle house and ask me to pickup from him. I manage to call her and thanks for the gift. Just have a short conversation and she have to hang up cos she still have something on that time. Maybe in this coming years i'll go to pay a visit to her house at Brunei. That night i have make some Loh Hon Kor herbal tea without adding any sugar. It has a sweet and bitter taste.

After an hour of window shopping and 1 1/2 hours of book searching then is the time to fill our empty tank. This is our favorite spot and my children like the most.

Restaurant Hakka Corner for breakfast.

Just another blessing Sunday even with a polluted air but still didn't affected us to going out for breakfast. All the way from our house to the town we still haven't decide where we are heading for breakfast until we reach Fortuna Commercial center area. Then remind me that there is a restaurant call Restaurant Hakka Corner which of course they serve Hakka food but not sure if there still have an empty seat. Luckily when we reached there, they still have one empty table so we don't have to wait for a seat. There is a most selected menu at the shop like stew boar meat, deep fried mee hoon, kan lau mee with fried pork and some other menu that i don't really remember. Their food are so tasty and the price are also reasonable.

Yum Cha at Nyuk Pau Ngiu Chap, Penampang

My daughter craving for some beef mee hoon soup for breakfast but get bored with the same coffee shop that we use to go. My husband bring us to the new place that we never been there before. This shop located at the Old Penampang. There is several shop that selling food there. I don't feel like eating beef that day so i order from the next shop which selling seafood. That day my daughter like to have Ngiu nyuk mee hoon, me with my tom yum mee hoon and my husband with his mix fish paste guo tiao soup. The price at the shop are not cheap then the food also not very taste. Maybe this is not my taste.

ADDICTED with Nasi Ayam Penyet

Nasi Ayam Penyet is a typical Indonesia food from eastern Jawa. It's normally  serve with spicy sambal with a piece of chicken, tempe and few slice of cucumber. Typically the chicken are marinated with herb and fried until crispy or golden colour.

 Lately there is a new menu at the Restaurant Mari-Mari at Sabah Trade Centre and i'm so so addicted with it. They sale it for RM9.00 per dish, so is not cheap. I heard from my colleague that one of the restaurant somewhere Alamesra also got Nasi Ayam Penyet. According from them the potion of the chicken are bigger from here, more tastier and even cheaper. I'm looking forward to try it there.
